School Bus Stop Law
On an undivided road, all traffic in both directions must stop at least 20 metres from a school bus with red lights flashing and stop arm extended — not just cars behind it.

Hand-Held Device Ban
Using a hand-held phone while driving is illegal in Ontario — even at a red light. Only exception is calling 911. First offence: $615–$1,000 fine and 3 demerit points.

Move Over Law
When passing a stopped emergency vehicle or tow truck with flashing lights, you must slow down and move to another lane if safe to do so.
